New Faculty Interview- Laura Janeczko

We caught up with one of our new LS teachers, Laura Janeczko, in order to help the community learn more about her.

1) Are you married with kids?

Yes, I have been married to Les for 26 years. We have 4 children. Carlie is 24, Andrew is 22, David is 20, and Chloe is 16.

2) Where did you go to school?

I graduated from Kean University in NJ with a B.A. in elementary education.

3) What gets you up in the morning?

I am a morning person and like to get my day started with Jesus and a cup of coffee. I like to have my quiet time to focus on Him and everything usually goes better.

4) What are your favorite hobbies?

I enjoy the outdoors walking my dogs, biking around Carmel with my husband, and making pottery on my wheel.

5) I enjoy surprising  others with homemade gifts just because!

6) What is my favorite book?

Too many to name. My son had me read Between Two Trees and it was great!

7) How long have you lived in Indiana and why do you enjoy living here?

I love Indiana for its outdoor life. Biking is wonderful here with all the parks and trails! The people are friendly and there is always something to do!

8) What meaningful event in your past significantly influenced your life?

It was my husband! The first real Christian man that actually lives out his faith. Our second date was a church service. I got saved in that church and never looked back.

9) What historical figure would you like to spend a day with?

I would have to say Benjamin Franklin and talk to him all about his inventions. He would probably be amazed  how we still use many of his inventions today.

10) What would we be surprised to learn about you?

My sister and I are 17 years apart! We are now at a point in our lives that we are friends. It took a while but we finally got to a place where we have things in common!
