We are so excited to announce that Mrs. Esther Molin has joined our faculty as a Teacher Apprentice! You may have seen her around CDA already as she has been subbing, working with teachers, and getting to know students. She was also a substitute teacher for Centerville schools, a nanny, and a missionary! She and her husband attend Traders Point Christian church.
We caught up with Mrs. Molin in order to help the community learn more about her. One fun fact that isn’t in our normal line up of questions is that her mother-in-law also works at CDA as a Latin teacher for lower school! We hope you enjoy getting to know her a bit better though her answers.
1) Are you married? Kids?
I am recently married with no kids.
2) Where did you go to school?
I graduated with my Associates in Christian Education from College of Athens in Athens, GA, and I am currently a student of Liberty University Online to receive my Bachelors in BED: Elementary Education.
3) What is your favorite snack or treat?
My favorite treat is Angel Food cake with homemade whip cream and fresh berries.
4) What gets you up in the morning?
Honestly it is to find what the Lord has in that day. He has new mercies everyday but we have to pursue him to actually have the eyes to see those in their fullness.
5) What are your favorite hobbies?
I have many but my top are drawing, embroidery, and sewing.
6) What is your favorite book and why?
Once again many answers to this question so I will only say two. One is Redeeming Love by Francis Rivers and the next is Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. Redeeming Love is a retelling of the book of Hosea and is a beautiful picture of the Lord’s love to us despite our unfaithfulness. Mere Christianity is the other book I chose because of it’s apologetics, it was a book that has definitely helped shape how I present my faith logically for others.
7) How long have you lived in Indiana and why do you enjoy living here?
This is my first year! I moved here when I got married to my Husband who lives and works here as a Registered Nurse at Northpoint Pediatrics. The community we have grown here because of the Lord is the main reason I love Indiana. It also offers some very beautiful flowers when in season!
8) Describe a meaningful event in your life and God’s role in that event.
A meaningful time in my life was when I graduated Highschool and went on a nine months missions trip to Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic. Those couple months I grew not only in my relationship and dependency on the Lord, but also how to care and share his words with his other beautiful creations, people. There are many things I can say about this but would take up to many written words here so feel free to ask me about it in person, I love sharing the testimonies of the Lord!
9) What historical figure would you like to spend a day with?
C.S. Lewis
10) What would we be surprised to learn about you?
That I come from a retired military family where I am one of five girls.
